Westfield Stratford

First thing is first, I apologise for the god awful photos. I am utterly shattered (I had my flu jab this morning, boo) and can not be bothered to take proper photographs but I couldn't wait to blog.

Anyway,  Gavin and I went to Westfield, Stratford today because he some birthday money to spend and I got a nicer pay check than I thought. Mostly what I am showing you is from H and M because I bought few bits I didn't really want to share.

As soon I walked in to H and M I saw this jumper and loved it and luckily the first one I picked up was my size, in my eyes, fate. I decided I needed a plain black skirt as I don't have one, and this was in the sale for £5. Cords and dress I also liked. I don't know what to say really.

Oh, bought these books because I like instant photographs, and hopefully might get some hints and tips. Anyway, time for fish and chips from chippy and The Shining.

New hair

Last night I was sat here fed up with the mess my hair has become, and decided to see if anybody would squeeze me in for a cut and blow dry but ended up having a semi permanent dye because I've been trying to go back to my natural colour. Also decided last minute I miss my fringe.

Creepshow

Gavin bought himself a creepshow tshirt of ebay and I have wore it more than him, there is something about the design I like, but I have never actually seen the film. so I am now about to. I shall let you know what I think....

So far I have worn it with red trousers and red and white pumps and today I wore it with wet look leggings and boots.

Boots are from Tesco last year £18
Hat from Mark and Spencer £5
Leggings present from Gavin
Satchel from Peacocks sale £9 (I think)

London Film Museum

Today is my beloved other half's 30th Birthday, and to celebrate he wanted to go to the London Film Museum and this is what we saw. ...

We got the good olĂ© Northern Line to Embankment and walked over the Golden Jubilee bridge, such amazing weather this morning, and the views are always lovely alone the Thames. There was a gentlemen playing steel drums just to add to the loveliness of the morning.

There were various film props in the Museum, one of the first things you see is The Original Rank Gong which I found pretty amazing to be honest. Some items of clothing that belonged to various actors, and props from various films.

Much to the excitement of Gavin there was a Star Wars exhibition, but unfortunately, as with most of the museum we were limited to what we could take photos of. We saw some original light sabres, sketches, and a Darth Vader.

I love Harry Potter, such a brilliant series, so when I found this room, I was like a child in a sweet shop while Gavin was dying to get out, so naturally I took more photos here than anywhere else. All these props are originals and in the films. I know there is one or two of you that will appreciate this section.

Its almost like somebody had planned this, next to the Harry Potter room was a room dedicated to Horror, not my scene. But here you go.

All in all it was a lovely morning, the place was dead, in fact we saw one other couple in there, and I think it helps that it is Wednesday and the kids have just gone back to school. There are some amazing exhibitions on, I won't bore you with them, here is a link instead.

One pat on the back please.

I finally did it. I finally sat still long enough to edit the photos, and here they are. I don't think popping down to the pub for a Sunday lunch helped to be perfectly honest.

Feedback is always welcome.

Procrastination

This time last week I was sat in a bungalow garden in Norfolk getting broody over this chubby cherub.

My best friend, Laura (blondie) had her 8 and half month daughter baptised and she asked me to take some photos of them for her, I was honoured and jumped at the chance. As we all know now I love taking photos, but my god do I dislike editing them. I cant sit still long enough to watch a film, so being stuck at a computer desk repeating myself many times irritates me. If I had the money I would happily pay somebody to edit the photos for me, any takers?!

This was the first time I had been to christening, and to be honest it really wasn't that bad, I honestly thought it would be a long dull process, but shockingly the vicar was lovely, and it only lasted about half an hour. Several of the other guests said it was the best christening service they had been to, but I have nothing to compare that to, the last christening I went to was my brothers, and I was three!

Anyway, I shall post some more photos when I have finished editing them.

May God be with you..... (If you're that way inclined)

Intro ramblings

I really do not like "introducing" myself. I never know what to say and to me it always feels awkward and clumsy, so please excuse me if it seems that way. A bit of basic info will do for now, and more shall be revealed in time.

I am a manager in the spoons in Balham, so pop in and say hi sometime, it really is quite a charming little place. I have been with spoons for little under 2 years now and prior to that I was a photography student. I squeeze photo time in around my work, but unfortunately life doesn't always go how we want it to and I don't earn enough to live off it. I know I have a lot of friends and family that would like me to quit and just go for it, but secrelty I love my job. I like meeting new and exciting people, and I am quite the chatter box, so it works both ways.

In my spare time, I have a camera in my hand, whether it is my canon 450D my finace's 550D, my pinhole camera or my mini Diana lomography camera. I do prefer film, and if I had the money I would only shoot film. I love that you have to think about what you are shooting, how you are framing, and exposing it. For me, you can not beat the excitment of getting the photos back from the lab. I dislike that digital need to just click away, although I am guilty for it myself, constantly clicking the same thing and having 4 or 5 photos that are pretty much repeated. I enjoy experimenting with different films, my fruit drawer in my fridge is filled with all sorts of film and picking one is always difficult.

The past few months I have discovered all things vintage. I went to Camden Crawl this year and had a wonder around the stable markets (if you haven't been, go!) there are so many corners just filled with golden gems. Not just clothes, but house hold items, books, CDs, tapes, and even BIKES! On that note I often visit the charity shop, I live 2 doors down from British Heart Foundation and about 25% of my wardrobe has come from there, I often have clear outs and give them just as much stuff back. I once had a beautiful decanter for Christmas which was from that same store!

I have far too many clothes every single one of my coat hangers has at least 2 or 3 things on it and my poor finace is getting less and less room in the wardrobe. He has 2 drawers and about a quarter of the wardrobe. I can honestly say I do not own a single pair of jeans, I have some red trousers which look like denim, but they are not. I am a bit of a sucker for the colour pink, floral prints, lace, and geeky jumpers. I dont really have a set style as such because it often depends on my mood.

In 603 days from typing this I shall be walking down the aisle to my lovely finace Gavin Rye! We met in 2006 I was just a wee 18 year old girl and he a 24 year old man (oddly the age I am now) we met online 2 years prior to that but never really planned to met up and bumped into each other one day. We "went steady" for a few months but I decided I wanted to go to university. When I finished we kind of just got back together and that was 2 years a go and since we have moved to London together, have a lovely little flat and a lovely little black cat called Ebony.
